PA STATEWIDE ACTION! Make a call to your Pennsylvania senator to support a fracking moratorium

The message is clear. Pennsylvanians want fracking to stop!

In the past few weeks, over 100,000 signatures calling for a moratorium on drilling were delivered to Corbett, a major poll found that, in fact, almost two-thirds of Pennsylvanians support a moratorium, and Senator Jim Ferlo announced that he’s introducing a moratorium bill and it already has five co-sponsors!

Let’s keep it going! On June 5, 2013, we’re telling Pennsylvania State Senate loud and clear that we don’t want fracking. Our goal: to urge more senators to sign on as co-sponsors for the bill that would put a temporary stop to fracking in our state.

Here’s how you can help!
1) On June 5th, when you’re ready to call, visit the action page on Food & Water Watch’s website to get started. When you enter your name, zip, and number, you’ll receive a call that will connect you automatically to your Senator’s office. Here’s the link to follow! http://bit.ly/callmoratorium

2) This statewide call-in day is being done in conjunction with Stop the Frack Attack’s national month of action against fracking! A public call-in event is the perfect way for groups around the state to participate! Setting up in a public space with a factsheet, script, and cell phones is a great way to generate lots of calls! (Be sure to take photos of your event to post here. We’ll share them with the Stop the Frack Attack folks too!)

3) Co-sponsor this event! Whether you can organize an event or recruit your members to make calls, your help will go a long way to making this call-in day a success! Contact Sam Berhardt at Food & Water Watch to sign up as a co-sponsor! sberhnardt@fwwatch.org

4) Share this invite on with your social networks!!

And, remember, the bill already has co-sponsors — Senator Lisa Boscola (D-Lehigh/Northampton), Senator Shirley Kitchen (D-Philadelphia 3rd District), Senator Daylin Leach (D-Montgomery/Delaware, Senator Judy Schwank (D-Berks), and Senator Christine Tartaglione (D-Philadelphia 2nd District). If you see your senator’s name here, be sure to THANK them for their support of the moratorium bill when you call!
